Radius Map Tool — Draw a Radius Around a Point

Draw a circle around any location to visualize a radius and its coverage area. Click to set the center, move out to the distance you want, and MeasureMaps shows both the radius and the total area inside the circle. It is the fastest way to map a delivery zone, service area, or a "how far can I reach" radius around a point.

How to draw a radius around a point

Three steps to a radius circle:

  • Search for or click the location you want at the center.
  • Select the circle tool and click once to place the center point.
  • Move the mouse out to the distance you want and click again — the circle shows the radius and the area it covers.

Radius distance and coverage area together

When you finish the circle, MeasureMaps displays both the radius (the distance from the center to the edge) and the total area within the circle. Radius is shown in meters/kilometers or feet/miles, and area in square meters/kilometers or square feet/miles, depending on your units.

What a radius map is used for

A radius around a point answers "what is within X distance?":

  • Delivery and service areas — show how far you deliver or travel.
  • Real estate — find homes within a set radius of a school or station.
  • Coverage and signal — map the reach of a tower, sensor, or camera.
  • Events and retail — estimate the catchment area around a location.
  • Travel planning — a rough "how far can I get" radius from a starting point.

Frequently asked questions

How do I draw a radius around a point on a map?

Select the circle tool, click once to set the center, then move out and click again to set the radius. The circle shows both the radius distance and the area it covers.

Can I see the area inside the radius?

Yes. The circle reports both the radius (center to edge) and the total coverage area within it, so you get distance and area from a single measurement.

What is a radius map used for?

Common uses include delivery and service areas, real estate search radii, signal or coverage zones, retail catchment areas, and estimating how far you can travel from a point.
