Export Map Measurements to GeoJSON, KML & CSV

Turn any measurement into a data file. MeasureMaps exports your distances, areas, and radius circles to GeoJSON, KML, CSV, or JSON with one click — including coordinates, distances, areas, perimeters, centroids, and elevation. Bring your measurements straight into QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth, or a spreadsheet.

Four export formats

Choose the format that fits your workflow:

  • GeoJSON — the standard geospatial format for QGIS, ArcGIS, and web maps.
  • KML — opens directly in Google Earth and most GIS software.
  • CSV — a spreadsheet of every measurement for analysis in Excel or Sheets.
  • JSON — raw data with full detail for developers and custom tooling.

What every export includes

Exports are complete, not just a set of points. Each file carries the coordinates, total distance, area, perimeter, point counts, centroids, and elevation, plus both formatted display values and raw metric values. Files are named with a "measuremaps.com" prefix so they are easy to find later.

How to export your measurements

Exporting takes one click:

  • Make your distance, area, or radius measurements on the map.
  • Open the Export menu in the toolbar.
  • Choose GeoJSON, KML, CSV, or JSON to download the file instantly.

Use your measurements anywhere

Exported data drops straight into the tools you already use:

  • Import GeoJSON or KML into QGIS or ArcGIS for further analysis.
  • Open KML in Google Earth to view measurements in 3D.
  • Load CSV into a spreadsheet for reporting and quantities.
  • Share a data file with a colleague or client instead of a screenshot.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export my measurements?

Open the Export menu in the toolbar and choose GeoJSON, KML, CSV, or JSON. The file downloads instantly with all of your current measurements.

What is the difference between GeoJSON and KML?

GeoJSON is the standard format for GIS software like QGIS and ArcGIS and for web maps. KML is designed for Google Earth and is also widely supported by GIS tools. Both contain the same measurement data.

What data is included in the export?

Each export includes coordinates, distances, areas, perimeters, point counts, centroids, and elevation, along with both formatted and raw metric values.
